Liverpool’s neglected forward http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dirk-Kuyt-c11348 revealed that he wants to be a part of the team competing in Champions League football next season, but is yet to take a final decision on the subject of his future at Anfield.
The Holland International failed to consolidate his place in the Reds starting eleven in the recently concluded 2011/12 campaign and repeatedly expressed his disquiet with the management for ignoring him.
Even though the 31-year old was hopeful of a bright future at the Merseyside club following Kenny Dalglish’s axing, whom he accused of neglecting him under his management, he expressed his aspiration to represent an outfit competing in the Europe’s most
glamorous club competition.
And with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 having failed to secure a Champions League berth next season, it is likely that the Dutchman will be heading out of Anfield in the summer.
He told the reporters, “It is my goal to play in the Champions League again. However, I have not made a decision on my future yet.”
Earlier, Kuyt had ruled out a probable move to the Dutch side http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258, citing the reason that his former employers cannot offer him a wage comparable to what he is getting in the Premier League.
He also admitted that he met representatives from Hamburg and that different clubs all over Europe have also expressed their interest in him.
However, the forward mentioned that he hasn’t reached a final decision as yet and currently set his focus on representing the national team in the forthcoming Euro 2012 competition.
He added, “I have not decided anything yet. My agent knows what I want, and he's doing all the hard work.”
The Dutchman has made 582 club appearances in his career and is currently one of the aged players in the Liverpool squad. He represented the Reds in 35 games last season and managed to score just 5 goals.
Nevertheless, Kuyt viewed a move to BundesLiga as an interesting choice, as a lot of other Dutch players also featured in the league. He also highlighted the fact that the German clubs always tend to do well in the Champions League and the BundesLiga’s popularity
has flourished over the last couple of seasons.
He continued, “A lot of great Dutch players have been playing in the Bundesliga. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904, and many more.”
He went on to say that the BundesLiga teams have the ability to compete with any club in Europe, and put forward the example of the Champions League runner-ups Bayern Munich to justify his comments.
