KwaZulu-Natal v North West  - CSA Provincial Three-Day Competition – Live Score and Update
KwaZulu-Natal 121 & 172 (52.2 ov) v North West 297 -
North West won by an innings and 4 runs
On the final day of the three-day match between KwaZulu-Natal and North West, the latter won by an innings and four runs at Chatsworth Stadium.
After getting bowled-out for 121 in their first innings, KwaZulu-Natal needed a strong bowling performance in order to restrict their opponents on a small total.
However, they got hammered for a decent score of 297, as their opposition North West gained an upper hand against them.
From North West, K Rapulana (59), TA Bula (49) and skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/BJ-Haddin-c1170 Pelser (52) played a dominating role, as they lost the fielding side without a clue.
From KwaZulu-Natal, BM Scullard and S Muthusamy were the most successful bowlers as they shared three wickets each. However, their performances still failed to halt the opposition from reaching a comfortable score.
KwaZulu-Natal then had a potent start to their second innings where the opener posted 27 runs before the fielding side struck for the first time when Kruger trapped Govender right in front of stumps with the batsman on only four runs.
The second-wicket partnership between skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/I-Khan-c63694 and M Ramsaroop was brilliant as the two led their side towards 78 runs, before the latter lost his wicket to Deeb with 17 runs off his bat.
Then with 96 runs on the board, the batting side lost their third wicket on the demise of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Khan-c71319, who found his way off the crease after having smacked a knock of 66 runs.
Deeb and Pelser then wreaked havoc upon their rivals as the two bowlers incinerated KwaZulu-Natal’s middle-order, leaving them with little chance of making a comeback in the match.
With MG Alexander (5), S Muthusamy (1), MW Boote (4) and KD Hodnett (1) all gone without putting much of a fight, KwaZulu-Natal were left in trouble.
K Buckthorp and D Paterson managed to take their side towards 154 runs, before the latter perished after scoring 30 runs.
Meanwhile, Buckthorp stayed unbeaten on 20 runs, as he saw his side lose this match to their rivals with them faltering on 172.
