The former Udinese midfielder caught the eye of the Juve management; and the Turin giants quickly snapped up the Ghanaian before any other club could move for him.
The Ghanaian international impressed under the tutelage of Francesco Guidolin and was involved in the joint move, which saw http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mauricio-Isla-c24922 making way to the Turin outfit as well.
Asamoah was instrumental in Udinese’s drive to gain UEFA Champion’s League football, and he would be a valuable addition to Antonio Conte’s side, adding strength and depth to their quality midfield.
The Bianconeri midfield already boasts the likes of Andrea Pirlo, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Claudio-Marchisio-c9312; the inclusion of Isla and Asamoah to the fold would increase the competition for places in the team.
The midfielder comes to Juventus on the back of a co-ownership deal, which sees Juventus reserve 60 per cent of the rights of Asamoah, with the Zebrette owning the other half.
There has been a minimal Ghanaian representation in the Juventus squad over the years, and Asamoah only becomes the second http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ghana-c2905 international to play for the club. The first player to have donned the white and black stripes of the Turin outfit was Stephen
Appiah, who was part of many Scudetto and Coppa Italia triumphs for the Bianconeri.
Commenting on him being the second Ghanaian in the club’s history, Asamoah went on to state:
“Yes, Stephen before me is the only Ghanaian to have played for Juve. I am the second to play for Juventus, it is a dream.”
The midfielder was talking to the official Juventus Channel and in his interview, he went on to state that he was thrilled to be part of a team that had such a great history and comes on the back of winning the Scudetto. He went on to mention that he had
followed the road to the club’s triumph, and remarked:
“It’s the best thing in my life, because Juventus are a very big club, who won the championship last year. I have seen many of their games and I am very happy to be here.”
Asamoah needs to impress the coach if he is to break into the first team at Juventus.
