Question:

Kyle Busch fans.....?

have you ever thought or wished the Toyotas did not have the horsepower advantage?

I would think then the Busch haters could not say he was winning because of any kind of advantage. In retrospect though, some of you might want the advantage?

Just curious to hear your thoughts. Not trying to stir any kind of pot.

  1. The jury's still out on the extra HP. Not saying they don't have it, just saying innocent until proven otherwise.

If they do have it, and it's not within legal allowance, then nascar either needs to fix the Toyota's or tell the other teams to catch up.

I don't want the advantage. Kyle can do it without extra HP, I believe that whole-heartedly, he's a hungry boy on a mission.

As far as the haters, eh....I usually just ignore them, or laugh at them, depending on my mood.

    Good question btw..

  2. There is no proof that the Toyota Cup car has any horsepower advantage.  If that were true, the other Toyotas would be having a much better year.  It's Kyle, if you weren't a believer last week when he came from the back of the field to win at Daytona, then you should be this week after that final two lap drag race with reigning champ Jimmie Johnson who was driving a better car than Kyle.

  3. um they do have a horsepower advantage in both tests prove it

  4. he sucks

  5. I'm not exactly sure they do to begin with. I mean dont you think NASCAR would have found something by now, to back up that theory? I dont think they could miss something like that, and just say overlook it you know?

I dont like Busch or his brother.. Therefore I dont want him to have any advantage what so ever.. Gibbs made a mistake by going to Chevy as they are losing their most valuable driver, to Hendrick of all teams, and they are losing a winning crew chief and driver combination. They should have just stayed with Chevy and then none of this probably wouldnt be happening. I bet they end up losing Home Depot too as a sponsor, because I think they sponsor some of Stewart's midgets and World of Outlaw cars. Not 100% sure on that though. I think eventually Zippy will leave and go with Stewart as well. Just watch.

  6. i haven't heard or seen anything convincing yet that says that the toyotas have a horsepower advantage worth mentioning AT THE CUP LEVEL. at the nationwide level, yes. i'd bet dollars to donuts they probably do have a horsepower advantage there. they don't seem to have much of a peak horsepower advantage (i think they had maybe a 4hp peak advantage over dodge, and both had more than the other two manufacturers), but many are claiming they put out a higher average horsepower. if chevy would have had their R07 package ready for approval at the beginning of the year like toyota did, then we wouldn't be having this conversation. their bad. why punish toyota half-way through the season because they followed the rules and got more out of not only their engines, but out of their bodies as well. but that's all in the nationwide series.

and even if they do have a horsepower advantage in the cup series, good for them. they worked within the restrictions that nascar placed upon them, which were "stricter" than normal in the sense that toyota wasn't allowed to use the same engines that they had been using in the truck series. they had to develop new engines for the cup and nationwide series and did so, got them approved and did what seems to be a REALLY  good job.

and everybody who wants to think that that's why kyle busch is winning, let'em think it. i think they're wrong, but everybody's entitled to their opinion, no matter how ignorant it is. as long as toyota and gibbs are playing within nascar's rules, i think the question should be "have i ever wished that the other manufacturers (and their team owners, drivers, and fans) would quit whining and just do a better job?"

chevy had the advantage the past few years (actually forever as they are the winningest manufacturer in nascar history), ford had it there for a while, and now toyota might have it. i say might because i think kyle's talent has a lot more to do with it than anything else - otherwise why aren't denny and tony winning more?

jimmie johnson said it best when he said they've made great strides at catching up, and by what i saw, it looks like they have. jimmie had that race had it not been for the caution. and even before that, carl had a better car than kyle in the middle of the race - even kyle admitted it was probably the best car out there.

bottom line, haters will be haters no matter what. they could all be driving hot wheels made in the same factory by the same workers and whoever could pedal the fastest would be still be accused of cheating or they'd have their talent dumped on one way or the other.

as elvis costello sang "let them talk and let them talk and let them all talk (talk talk talk)."  when they quit talking and start walking, maybe then they'll catch up on the equipment end of things - they'll still have to catch up to kyle's talent and i don't think they can lobby nascar to "reign his talent in."

  7. I was just telling someone that I wish NASCAR would dyno Toyota's engines just so it would maybe get people to be quiet and quit complaining, and respect the talent of Kyle Busch and JGR more. I am counting down the days until they do it, but of course by then they will be well onto their next conspiracy theory. Kyle Busch doesn't need an advantage, and I can't wait till NASCAR verifys to everyone what a lot of us have known from the beginning, that Kyle Busch has a ton of skill and can drive any kind of vehicle you put him in.

Whether it's the truck series, Nationwide, Sprint Cup, or even dirt late models, he's good in all of them. So no, I don't want any advantage, and I want NASCAR to dyno the Sprint Cup engines ASAP to make people give it a rest until they can come up with some new material.

In hindsight, these are probably the same people that say Jeff Gordon's 81 wins and 4 championships are luck, Jimmie Johnson cheats to win all of his races, and Kyle Busch causes any wreck on the track no matter what position he is in. So I guess their opinions don't mean a lot, and it doesn't change what Kyle and his team have accomplished, it just looks funny to me watching what these people come up with next to explain why certain drivers aren't winning, and Kyle is.

  8. Yeah it's all driver.....right

So all of a sudden Shrub is GREAT and Jimmy Johnson and Jeff Gordon are average. h**l yes Toyota has an advantage. Do you think they spent all of that money for nothing. Why would Joe Gibbs leave Chevy which had a proven track record and switch to Toyota ? Not saying it's rigged but with the US auto makers bleeding money how much money do you think they are going to spend on racing research and development ? Toyota pulled out all the stops and threw a ton of money into their cup programs. Vickers Toyota has his best year. Stewart and Hamlin when racing their cars have been fast all year. Let me ask you this, if Busch was still driving the #5 Hendricks Chvevy do you think he would have 7 wins right now ? I doubt it.

  9. i've been an earnhardt fan since the mid 80's but i'm not pissed if the toyotas do have a few more horsepower, after all it is an engine builders job to tweek those motors and produce maximum horsepower WITHIN GUIDELINES.  i'm just a little upset that chevy hasn't kept up this year or in the off-season with what toyota could have been workin on to gain a few extra HP.  they may not even have a way to get info on the toys?????

  10. Toyota only has the horsepower advantage in Nationwide.. But coming from the Hamlin fan, His ignition was all messed up which is Toyota Engine and Kyle Busch just hasn't had any bad luck this year and hope he doesn't have it in the chase.

  11. I'm sure not a fan. I just hope he starts having some bad luck for a change. Like blown engines or other problems. I get sick of the same person winning all the time. Its not just him, I prefer when things are balanced out more. Different winners now and then.

  12. look at it this way Gibbs Driver Kyle Busch 7 wins

Gibbs Driver  and 2 time champ Tony Stewart 0 wins

No horsepower advantage it's all driver and crew

  13. I think NASCAR will eventually take care of the horsepower advantage and the point will be moot.

As for Kyle Busch, I don't like the kid, I think he is punk -HOWEVER last night's win in Chicago was all driver.  He didn't have the best car so the win was definately his talent.
