Kyle Busch wins NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Charlotte Motor Speedway
Kyle Busch clinched his 28th victory in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at the Charlotte Motor Speedway on Friday evening.
Busch attributed the victory to an angel hand behind his truck on Friday. He said, “I had an angel running with me that last run of the race. We didn't have the truck to beat tonight. The [No.] 2 [Bowyer] did. Somehow I found some more out of it, and I'm
going to say that I had some help tonight.”
Busch took the lead of the race during the 128th lap of the 134-lap race. It was his first lap lead of the day which he continued to the chequered line by holding off the runner up Clint Bowyer to win the North Carolina Education Lottery 200.
After his surprise victory Busch said, “It is weird how things work, but, man, when you believe in it and you trust it and you have faith in it, it'll repay you.”
Busch crossed the chequered line 0.317 seconds ahead of Bowyer. This event marked his third consecutive win in the 2011 series, fourth from six starts in the present season and overall 28th of his Camping World Truck series career.
He now has a total of 97 victories in the NASCAR’s top three national series. It has tied Kyle Busch with Dale Earnhardt and Darrell Waltrip at third place in the all time overall three national series.
Busch’s truck carried the name of the murdered child, Zahra Baker, who was fighting cancer before her short life was deliberately ended at the age of 10 years.
In the NASCAR 2010 season, she came to Charlotte Motor Speedway as a guest of Speedway Children’s Charity. Baker was one of the group members which consisted of underprivileged children. The kids were also presented with hearing aids at the race venue later
that day.
Meanwhile, former Formula 1 champion, Kimi Raikkonen finished 15th in his debut race at NASCAR Camping World Truck series.
