Kyle Bush has proven to be the best nascar driver in todays racing. Let me explain?

I asked chris meyers on his radio show today,really how much is it the driver or the car and team he is with that determines how we can really say the best drive is. He said 65 percent is the car and the other 35 percent is the driver according to nascar. So you dumb *** hendrick lets Bush go and keeps casey Mears. Bush only finished 5th over all with the no. 5 car.Bush had 1 win,11 top 5,and 20 top 10 finishes.Mears had 1 win,5 top 5 and 10 top 10 finishes.Do the math people. So lets take a look at the car he has taken over this year which is the 18 car of jj yeley. So yeley with the same car last year that Bush has this year yeley finished 21 over all, he had 1 top 5 and 3 top 10 finishes. But it really is not the same car because the gibbs team is racing toyota. Which is only in its second year. That would make it even harder on busch racing a car that has had no sucess so far. Mears sucks this year with the car bush had last year. Kyle bush is leading the chase with yeleys car.

let's see, the scrub has 6 measley wins in what, 5 years? he's spun out twice this year with no one around him while leading races, and rick hendrick dumped him because he kept wrecking and tearing up good eqiptment every week. yep, sure sounds like the best driver to me (rolls eyes )

Being the best driver isn't just about skill/talent.  It's about your actions, your interactions with others, things you say and things you do, etc.  Otherwise known as one's attitude.

I'm not a huge Jr fan.  He is one very talented driver, ranking up there with some of the greats.  I'm not a Busch fan by any means, although he, too, is a very talented driver.  But if I had to choose between the two I would go with Jr, simply because of the way he handled the situtation after the race, his attitude, his compose.

Being the best driver isn't just about how well you drive the car.

Chris Meyers is wrong. Anyone can build the car, ( if they know what they're doing). It's more the driver than the car. I've known guys who could make machines work in phenominal ways, and not have the best equipment (which would actually make Kyle Busch look even better). Don't call Hendrick dumb, call him cool. Because you'ld have to be awfully cool to do what he does. He has the best team in NASCAR, he wins championships, and he has NASCARs three most popular drivers. Sure he knows Kyle is good. But poor ol' Kyle is just one guy. He isn't a team.

Is there a question in there?  Driver is 90% of the equation, obviously as you pointed out!  Junior takes over Mears team and look how well they have run.  As mentioned above Mears takes over Kyle's old team and is just as bad as he was last year (if not worse).  Kyle moves into Yelleys car and instantly makes it a contender.  Same thing with Hamlin, he stepped into that car and made it a contender when previously it was in the back of the pack.  I think it is great that it still comes down to who is the best driver and not just the best at writing checks like it is in F1.

I wouldn't say he is the BEST driver in today's racing, but he is very good and talented. This is his first season where he has really shown his talent. So you can't say he is the best driver when he has only been leading the points for one week. He still has a lot to learn. But i think he has a chance to break history. He is still very young and has won several races and is leading the points, so if he can grow up and stop running into people every week, he might start to gain respect and start running even better than he already does.

I still say Jeff Gordon is. Win stats and Championships say it all. NOTHING against Kyle, but the guy has 1 start off of a good season, and his fans start saying he is the best ever or he is the best in this erra. When he gets 4 championships, wins 13 races in a season, and wins 80+ races. then he will be one of the best.

Every one loves Dale Jr. because of his PERSONALITY!

There was a lot more drama leading up to him getting fired from Hendrick then just his driving ability.. It made good business sense . Hendrick couldn't control Kyle's mouth, he was having trouble with his sponsors etc... Dale JR may not be a Great driver, but he is a very good, consistent driver and he is the fan favorite. Hendrick and Dale JR have a long history together. Even if Kyle were to win the championship this year, Rick will still make far more money from  having JR on his team . Casey Mears doesn't cause problems with his sponsors either, so he is good for business more so than Kyle.Every time Kyle does something stupid on the track, thousands of people call or e-mail his sponsors threatening the purchase of their product.

Problem is HMS had the jump on everyone last year in the new car, the record wins by one team proved that and of all the drivers for that team Busch was only tied in wins with Casey at HMS. This year toyota caught up with the field and is proving to be a strong contender. Like most folks predicted. Kyle is no doubt the best Toyota driver out there if you look at stats but those can change almost as fast as a pit stop when you driver by the seat of your pants instead of using your head. He isn't making any friends out there in any of the series (on the track).

Remember, Jimmy Spencer, Geoff Bodine, and His own brother all drove as good as Kyle. None of them were good enough to take on all the field every weekend and survive for long at the top. Someone will eventually clean his clock and it may be someone just as young as he is. Veteran drivers will just sit back and watch the carnage. One thing is for sure. As long as everybody is gunning for Busch, Stewart and Jeff are collecting points.
