Has just been traded to the Tigers for Ivan Rodriguez who goes to the yankees.

Will he now be the closer in Detroit? Is he worth picking up?

Great trade for the Yankees, not so much for the Tigers.

The Yankees fixed a significant hole in their lineup. Jorge Posada is out, Molina can't bat. Now we have Pudge, who can catch and hit for us.

Simply put, Kyle Farnsworth sucks. He can't hold a lead to save his life.

I think it was a smart move considering Posada could be gone for the remainder of the season.

He will probably bat 7 or 8 in the lineup and is a steal for the yanks who only had to give up a dumpy middle reliever in Farnsworth

Yes its a good move for both teams.

I expect the Tigers and the Yankees to play each other in the American lg championship series a repeat of 2006.

Some of us in Red Sox Nation are starting to fel alittle queasy now. The Yankees added three significant players with a minimal hit to the big club, and my boys have stood pat. It's not like we are without weakness.

As a Chicago fan (yes both the Cubs and Sox), I am happy about the trade b/c it doesn't help the Tigers at all this year which is good for my South Side team.

The only way it helped the Tigers is the fact that Pudge was in the last year of his contract. This way they can get SOMETHING for him as opposed to NOTHING after the season.

They are obviously conceding the season as they are behind both the Sox and Twins and to be honest, were probably not going to make it to the playoffs with or without Pudge.

He'll at least be a part of the 'pen, and no, he wasn't worth picking up. Bad move by Detroit.
