Kyle Orton is the Bears starting QB. What do you think? Will this even impact their season?

anybody is better than grossman and orton was the only QB that didn't get sacked on there game against the seahawks

There goes the deep ball...lol. Get ready for 150 ypg from Orton. Orton is better under pressure though, which is important because Bears have the worst offensive line in the league. Rex was better in training camp and u cant evaluate them in such limited time in preseason.. especially when Holmgren blitzed the h**l out of Rex and at least 2 defenders would go through the offensive line untouched. Either way.... were gonna see Rex again there is no way Orton will survive all 16 games behind this offensive line, we may see Hanie also. I'm really starting to lose faith in Lovie Smith and Jerry Angelo...

I was rooting for grossman, he is much better than orton. Our whole offense got 3x worse than last year. Basically our record for the year belong to the bears defense. If no injuries occur i say 8-8 MAYBE 9-7. If we loose mike brown(which we will) and another starter we will be last in division... We need a new Off. Coordinator and a new manager. Some 1st round pick, injured before the season even starts..

The Bears are still one impact quarterback away from one impact quarterback,it looks like the Bears will be fighting the Detroit Lions for last place in the NFC North division

The Bears are going to be comically bad (does not matter who the QB is).  With "Neck Beard the Pirate" (Orton) captaining the ship it won't be better.

Basically I am just going to watch Bears games to see Devin Hester and to laugh at how bad it is.

And garrett_84 is nuts!!!!  The Bears win no more than 4 games.  Wooo hooo, finally a First Pick.  Lets hope a GREAT QB is in the draft.

Orton can't make any big plays or throw the deep ball well. He has a weak arm and he manages the game. IMO Orton is only good if the Bears give him a lead.

Grossman can at least win games, but he also can lose games just as easily. Orton can't get the team down field. Last season, he didn't make a pass longer than 17 yards.

Orton has a weak arm.He's the equivalent of a reliever in baseball IMO.

No. They're an awful team in an awful division. 9-7 could possibly win the NFC North, but the Bears will be 7-9 tops.

It doesnt really matter who the starter is for this Chicago Bears team. Although, I am glad that it is Orton over Grossman. I just hope that Orton is the starter for the whole season, not just until he has a bad game. I dont want a new QB every other game. This team will win 6 games. Thanks to Hester and the D.

It means nothing. The Bears QB's are an embarrassment. The Bears should be ermbarrassed at making this announcement.

I thought for sure that Rex would be the starter.  I would hope the Orton will work out will, but with our luck with QB's, I'm not sure.  I wish we would have picked up a new QB when we had the chance to.  If Orton hasn't improved, I think it might be another season like the last. :(

Chicago sealed their own fate with not going out and getting or drafting a legit NFL QB.  They have the defense but their offense is almost nonexisting.

What I think should happen is Grossman start for the first half and Orton start for the second half. Grossman was spectacular for the Bears in the first half in '06, then flunked in the second half. Though he wasn't good in either half last year, I think he'll find a way to play well... for a certain amount of time. I think Orton should start in the second half because he's a bit more consistent than Grossman.
