Kyle Richardson claims second gold title in Gold Coast: Day three – 2011 Australian University Games
Queensland University of Technology athlete, Kyle Richardson, the gold medallist in the Men’s 200m freestyle event, claimed his second gold title in the 100m freestyle race on day three of the 2011 Australian University Games, in Gold Coast, on Thursday,
September 29. Kyle completed his distance with a winning mark of 50.93 seconds.
Earlier, Kyle won Men’s 4x100m freestyle title at the 2011 World Championship editions, in Shanghai. Moreover, Richardson snared two gold medals in the Men’s 4x100m freestyle and 4x100m medley races at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, in Delhi.  In the corresponding
races, Kyle Richardson won one silver and one bronze title at the 2010 Pan Pacific Championships, in Irvine.
Meanwhile, Kurt Herzog of University of Technology won silver medal on the podium by submitting a time of 52.42 seconds. On the other hand, Matthew Spence, gold medallist in the Men’s 50m butterfly race, took home bronze medal on the podium by posting a
matchless time of 52.94 seconds.
In the corresponding swim, Raymond Mak of University of Melbourne was placed fourth in a time of 54.74 seconds. Christopher Warren of Macquarie University earned fifth place honours with a mark of 55.48 seconds, while Harrison Pullinger of Macquarie University
settled sixth in a time of 57.66 seconds.
Christopher Parker Tass of University of Melbourne was placed seventh in a time of 57.75 seconds. Last, but not the least, Macquarie University athlete, Atte Limatanien, double gold medallist in the Men’s 100m and 200m back-stroke events, was surprisingly
placed eight with a mark of 58.88 seconds.
Earlier in the day, Liimatanien took home the Men’s 200m back-stroke title on the podium with a victorious mark of 2 minutes and 11.77. In the corresponding race, Mark O’Donnell captured silver medal by posting a winning time of 2 minutes and 12.40 seconds.
Finally, Donald Cameron of Macquarie University grabbed bronze medal in the respective meet by submitting a unique time of 2 minutes and 15.16 seconds.
The 2011 Australian University Games are scheduled to conclude on September 30.
