Kyle Richardson impresses arena at the 2011 Australian University Games in Gold Coast
Kyle Richardson of Queensland University of Technology put up a stunning performance at the 2011 Australian University Games held during the last week. The games were conducted in Gold Coast, Australia, from September 27-30.
Richardson took part in both the Men’s 100m and 200m freestyle events. In the Men’s 200m freestyle final heat, Kyle Richardson impressed the arena due to his sparkling swim and clinched the gold medal by posting a triumphant time of 1 minute and 51.90 seconds.
In the corresponding swim, Donald Cameron of Macquarie University and Andrew Kennedy of University of New South Wales took home the silver medal with an identical mark of 1 minute and 56.47 seconds.
Meanwhile, Mark O’Donnell of Monash University captured fourth spot with a riveting mark of 1 minute and 56.87 seconds and Mark O’Donnell’s partner, Zac Charlton earned fifth position with a decisive mark of 2 minutes and 01.50 seconds. Moreover, Kurt Herzog
of Sydney University of Technology was placed sixth with a time of 2 minutes and 05.42 seconds.
Tom Liubinas of University of Melbourne settled seventh in a time of 2 minutes and 05.73 seconds. Last, but not the least, Michael Barker of Queensland University of Technology was placed eighth in a time of 2 minutes and 06.37 seconds.
Kyle Richardson has bagged many gold titles under his belt already. He won gold medal in the Men’s 4x100m freestyle event at the 2011 World Championship editions, in Shanghai. Afterwards, he captured two gold medals in both the 4x100m freestyle and 4x100m
medley final races at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, in New Delhi. He claimed one silver and one bronze title at the 2010 Pan Pacific Championships, in Irvine. Kyle has not won any Olympic gold medal so far.
In the respective event, Kyle Richardson came out strongly in the Men’s 100m freestyle final and grabbed the golden crown with a winning time of 50.93 seconds. Kurt Herzog of University of Technology snatched the silver medal by posting a riveting mark of
52.42 seconds, while Matthew Spence took home bronze in 52.94 seconds.
In the corresponding splash, Raymond Mak of University of Melbourne wound up fourth with an impressive mark of 54.74 seconds and Christopher Warren of Macquarie University settled fifth with a time of 55.48 seconds.
In addition, Harrison Pullinger of Macquarie University was placed sixth with a time of 57.66 seconds and Christopher Parker Tass of University of Melbourne earned seventh spot in 57.75 seconds. Moreover, Macquarie University’s athlete, Atte Liimatanien
settled eighth in a time of 58.88 seconds.
The arena applauded for impressive swims of Queensland University of Technology’s athlete, Kyle Richardson and he was awarded medals and accolades after the session’s completion.
