Kyle Stanley leads the last leg of PGA Tour Qualifying round
The last leg of the PGA Tour Qualifying round commenced on 1st December and was led by Kyle Stanley who achieved a 65 for the front in R1.
Stanely is reported to certificate a 7 under after yesterday’s play at the Crooked Cat course which is sharing the 6 round Q match with The Panther Lake Course.
The 65 carder thus led the first round at the Orange County National Golf Centre & Lodge while the 108-hole race rotates the golfers between the earlier mentioned 2 GCs over a stretch of 6 rounds.
The Q school has a total of 150 players from different struggles and has transferred 19 players into Florida from the previous round. Stanely is seen directing a leader board from which a total of top 25 players will be achieving full playing rights to the
PGA Tour for 2011. Other than that, the next 50 golfers will be the holders of full cards for second-tier Nationwide Tour.
At the second place, Scott Weatherly along with Joseph Bramlett collected a 67 to share the position with Ben Martin. Martin carded a 66 at Panther Lake with a 5 under on the cards.
Stanley performed on the Nationwide Tour recently and led for only one round. Up till now, he has finished on the top 10s six times and attained a 35th place on the money list rankings, however, it didn’t help him earn a PGA Tour card.
According to his score card, the minus 7 materialized after Stanely recorded three birdies subsequent to his first 4 holes. The Wednesday’s play witnessed him playing the 6th hole with dropping one shot whereas the 9th hole handed him the dropped shot back
since he attained yet another birdie at the respective hole.
Up till the 9th cup, Stanely reigned in the 3 under cult and maintained his form. On the second nine, the golfer made four birdies in a row and stepped into the 6 under cloud before the 14th. The par five 14th hole thus transferred Stanely to stand on a
minus 7 after his carded birdie.
The 16th hole planned to go hard on Stanely and handed him a bogey after he appeared at the par 4 challenge. At 17th, however, he birdied the par 5 which kept the lead in his hands as he parred the last hole of the Crooked Cat GC.
Sunghoon Kang currently makes it to the leader board after the second place tie and has a minus 4 for display.
