ok, i've heard the same thing over and over and want to understand how something so simple could be so misinterpreted. i've read and heard so many people saying that kyle busch said he'd wreck as many cars as he needs to in order to win. so i went back to the post-race interview after the richmond nationwide race where kyle and steven wallace had words and transcribed the following:

"what happened with you and stephen wallace?"

"...when you bump somebody on the straightaway, if you want to play boy's games like that then it's every man for himself and i don't care, i'll wreck as many cars as i need to, so, to me, i'm not going for points, if he's going for points it's going to hurt him a lot worse than it's going to hurt me."

to me kyle is talking very specifically about wrecking as many of his own nns cars as he needs to in order to teach stephen a lesson as kyle's not worried about points.

where in that interview does kyle say that he'll wreck anything or anyone to win a race?

  1. I think Hornaday and Montoya cured any of his I don't care who I wreck to get to the front.

To his credit I believe he is a better driver now than 7 weeks ago when he pulled down on the apron at Daytona and let the car settle before pulling back up onto the track was a different driver than the one that started the year.

  2. Kyle Busch is the George Bush of NASCAR. Those who don't like him will twist his words into something he didn't say and attack anyone who objects to the distortions.

  3. Misquotes happen all the time. Dwelling on such things can make you go crazy, just move on :)

  4. This quote has been interpeted so many ways that it's meaning is lost.

Personnally I can agree with what you are saying that he is meaning his own cars. But he is making a broad statement that if a driver wants to bump draft or wants to bump another driver out of the way be prepaired to have the favor returned.

Too many times this year there have been bumping from cars that were down a lap or more, and there have been several times that lapped cars would not move over for lead lap cars that the lapped cars were bumped to move.So I think the broad statement is if you want to block to protect someone be ready to be bumped.

  5. he said it right in that quote

"...every man for himself and I DON'T CARE, I'LL WRECK AS MANY CARS AS I NEED TO, so, to me...."

    duh

  6. I love when cup drivers mouth off about what happens in the Nationwide series. It's supposed to be a DEVELOPMENTAL series. So these cup drivers come there and race and them complain when they feel a Nationwide series drivers makes a mistake or doesn't race them they way they should have. If I drive in the Nationwide series only I would race the cup drivers as hard as I could. If the cup drivers don't like it too bad.

  7. you got it right

  8. You don't wreck cars period. Whether it's for the win or to get back at someone. Besides, what Stephen did to Kyle that night is exactly what what Kyle did to Jimmie at Chicagoland the other night.

Point - The drivers don't make the cars. The crews do. And they spend their life doing it.

  9. Well #18, I'll fill you in. Everytime Kyle and I talk he says he doesn't care about having a job in the future and doesn't drive racecars for any other reason than to cause wrecks. He also tells me that they have a supercharger on their engine but NASCAR can't find it because the Klingons gave him a cloaking device. Then he told me that Joe Gibbs is actually his biological father and that is the only reason he lets him drive his cars. And lastly, he confessed that he was already frustrated with Stephen as they had a lovers' quarrel earlier that day so things were said out of anger. He swore me to secrecy but I'm off my meds right now. Did I miss anything? Big LOL. If you would like, I'll let you plug a cable into the alien implanted port on my skull and watch the video. Gotta go. The mother ship is here for me.

  10. i think he said that before a truck race he didn't make to qualifying had had to go to the rear of the feild

i actually heard him say it -i thought it was funny

just cant recall which track  its been a while back

i dont think he won the race though

when i seen it he was sitting in his truck pulling his helmet on

  11. Your talking to the same group of people who constantly say Toyota has way more HP than the other cars, but offer no proof.

The same group that says Gibbs and the 18 are cheating, yet NASCAR has never handed down penalties or even said they were cheating.

The same group that says KB does nothing but wreck people to win.  Aside from the Richmond incident (which was blown way out of proportion due to who was involved), has yet to wreck anyone to win this year.

People will twist and shape anything to make it fit what they want to see/hear.   I don't worry about it, I just cheer for KB.

  12. Nope I do agree with you I know his owners would have a fit if he said that
