Kyleakin Lass to take advantage of the distance in the Novae Bloodstock Insurance Handicap
The Class 3 Novae Bloodstock Insurance Handicap has brought together nine three-year and above runners for the five furlong race on Saturday, 21st July at Newmarket. The winner will get to take back the £8,410 prize money for the connections.
One of the most interesting entries for the race today is the three-year-old bay filly, Kyleakin Lass. Her roaring success over five furlongs followed by a miserable defeat over six furlongs has enhanced her chances to 7 to 1 today.
The soft ground complemented with the distance is the recipe for her to be the first one through the wire.
The three-year-old bay filly has been active four times during the new season. She cracked into the season on 30th April, 2012 at Wolverhampton over six furlongs in the 32Red Handicap.
The bay filly ended eighth as the race was won by Bartolomeu with three lengths under his belt. He set the favourite entry of the race, Uprise, as the runner-up.
Kyllachy’s  daughter then tired her luck in the Davis West Indian Bakery Handicap on 21st May, 2012 at Windsor over five furlongs. The race did see the three-year-old improve drastically as she ended second behind the winner, Wicked Wench, who won the race by the margin of a length while riding with jockey, Josh Baudains.
Settling third in line was, Signifer.
Under the supervision of trainer, Ian Wood, the bay filly won the John Sunley Memorial Handicap on 11th June, 2012 at Windsor over five furlongs. In the field of seven, the filly and the rider were the last of the pair, but the two steered through the traffic and had progressed drastically by the time the last furlong remained. Her domination over the final furlong was invaded by Miliika, who lost by a neck’s margin.
The West Dereham Abbey Stud bred then met a devastating fate in the Summer Sprint Trophy Handicap on 9th July, 2012 at Ripon race course over six furlongs. The soft ground went in the favour of the favourite entry, Athenian, who won by the margin of a length.
The bay filly will become the ride for jockey, Pat Dobbs, and the duo has been allotted the sixth gate.
