Kyrie Irving, Kemba Walker: Top point guards available in the NBA Draft 2011 (Part-1)
Only one day is left in the NBA draft 2011 and the teams with the top picks are giving a final thought on selecting the best talent and shoring up their weak positions. A number of teams have already decided their picks while some
are still weighing their options.
On Thursday, all eyes will be on the Cleveland Cavaliers, who will enter the draft with the first and fourth overall pick. The Cavaliers have a big chance to bring the team back on the track in the next season if they can make
the most from their selection.
Let’s have look at the top five players in this year’s draft at every position.
Point Guards

5. Nolan Smith
Duke Blue Devils’ versatile point guard Nolan Smith was the man behind the team’s success in the ACC Championship when the face of Duke Kyrie Irving was sidelined due to injury. With an average of 20.6 points, 5.1 assists and 4.5
boards in his last college season, the 22-year-old Smith spearheaded the Blue Devils for their third successive ACC championship. Nolan is definitely among the best point guards and has the potential to become the next NBA Star.
4. Jimmer Fredette
The 22 year old Jimmer Fredette of Brigham Young University is one of those players who are always up for the challenges. The influential point guard proved it during the NBA combine workouts when he always wanted to take on the
best draft players and he did extremely well against them. His determination and strength is what makes him so special which can be a big asset for any team.
3. Brandon Knight
University of Kentucky’s youthful talent Brandon Knight is an incredible all round performer. With the age of 19, Brandon might be the youngest player on the board however he plays big despite of being underage and will become
a formidable threat in a couple of years. The point guard is second on the All Time Scoring list of the Florida high School basketball and his game-play will only get better with the passage of time.
2. Kemba Walker
One of the most talked about players in this year’s draft is Kemba Walker from University of Connecticut Huskies. Walker is agile, versatile and dominates the proceedings on the court. During the third year with Huskies, Kemba
took his game to another level and averaged 23.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.5 assists as earned the recognition of the best player in the college league.
1. Kyrie Irving
Duke University Blue Devils’ dynamic point guard Kyrie Irving is the top prospect in the NBA’s draft and expected to be drafted with the first overall pick. Even though Irving played only 11 games during the 2010-2011 season however
his acquaintance with the basketball and maturity in the interviews is absolutely surprising for a 19 year old. Irving’s agility and athleticism has no match which makes him one of the quickest players in this year’s draft.
There is a reason for him being the number one top prospect on the board and for the same reason he is the best on the point guards list as well.
