I have a zongshen gs250 a chinese imported bike not sold in the states and I want to replace my headlight bulb 35w/35w with some kind of L.E.D headlight bulb. I want that brighter "white" light. Does anyone have any suggestions or comments if its possible or what brand/kind of bulb to use? Even though its a chinese imported bike, can i substitute any regular brighter bulb sold here in the states? or will only the chinese made bulbs from the manufacturer do? thanks

  1. You are talking about HID lights. I hate the farkin lights. They are great for the rider or driver but to everybody else on the road they are blinding and do more harm than good. For some people they trigger migrains and seizures.

    Stay with your regular lights!

  2. So far as I am aware, no one sells LED headlight systems -- they simply don't throw enough light.  But if you want a better system, consider a gas discharge lighting system; you can get these for about $100 at automotive retailers.

  3. You might have a problem fitting the headlight in.  I do not think you mean LED lights, I do not think they exist and they have a blue tint.  I think you want xenon lights which are brighter.  They also have a blue tint but is lighter.  There are also halogen lights that are quite common nowadays.

  4. Be careful if you decide to get a brighter bulb than the 35w that is fitted as stock, because usually the headlight lens and surround on Chinese bikes are made of plastic and they will melt with the extra heat generated from a more powerful bulb.

Give the lens a tap to see if it is glass before you buy the bulb, if its plastic you will have to put up with the bulb you already have.

  5. never heard of LED headlights... but, you could pretty much replace the light with any other light 'kit' you buy (as in the lights people put on their trucks and such) as long as you're not trying to wire like a spot light with a million candle power, there shouldn't be a problem as far as your battery is concerned.

i think you've confused LED lights with HID head lights (they give off an extremely bright crisp light, which leds are known for.)
