He was world no 1 for 80 weeks, won 2 Grand Slams @ Wimbledon and Us open. Beat Sampras in straight sets @ us open beat Federer easily many times. Won 2 masters cups, never gave up when he was down always kept fighting till the match was over. Came back after losing 1st set or 1st 2 sets a number of times.

  1. You have to be joking right? If you're quoting those stats, then how about Federer 200+ weeks at #1, 12 grand slams, beat Sampras, beat Hewitt (many more times including quite a few bagels), won 4? masters cup.

Or perhaps you meant he was the best Aussie #1 in a long time. Sure, but not too long. Rod Laver was the best Aussie.

  2. in recent memory, yes but all time, absolutely not. i mean you still have the legends in rod laver, fred stolle, roy emerson and for the women, margaret court.

**wait, you do mean BEST AUSSIE...not just best all round? if the latter, that would be pretty absurd.

  3. recently yes but all the time a 50-50 chance

  4. You're 'avin' a larff, mate!! No. He is nowhere near the best of all time. Be honest, if he was any other nationality, you would've forgotten all about him.

    Aussies... Snigger.

  5. He didn't dominate the sport, and he never won the French.
