  1. No. Your first 3 to 5 years will be spent working in the county jail

  2. You go to a jail nearest you house but they could send you as far. they try and work with you. You work at least 2 years in the jail system before they send you out. Also when you graduate they school they let you have 3 choices of places you want to go after doing your minimum 2yr jail system time.

  3. When you join the LA County sheriff's department chances are you will not see street duty until you have worked in a jail for several years. Almost all new recruits do jail duty first as they are really short of jail people.

  4. They prefer you work in the city you live in or one close to it.

There are many different divisions of LA SO

    L.A.

    East L.A.

    W. L.A.

Norwalk,Downey, south Gate, Compton.Lynwood,Bellflower,etc. if you live in L.A. county you know there are I think 37 towns in the county or is it 57.

I used to know them all but I forget all of them.
