http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409 Beckham’s LA Galaxy team mates have gone on to voice their surprise and concern over the midfielder being snubbed from the Great Britain Olympic squad.
It was previously believed that the veteran midfielder was going to be given the call up to represent Great Britain in the Olympics. However, Stuart Pearce went on to change his mind at the last minute and decided to bring in some defensive cover, which
is why he opted to put Manchester City defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Micah-Richards-c25259 in the team instead.
Nonetheless, most of the LA Galaxy players who play with Beckham are still in shock over the decision, since they were certain that Beckham would get the call up.
"We're disappointed for David," Landon Donovan said.

"You look at it in a bigger context, the opportunity to play an Olympics in your home country is really special. To have that taken from you is devastating, especially for a guy who has done so much for the sport in that country. It doesn't really make sense."

http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robbie-Keane-c31215, also went on to insist that the decision was rather shocking and that most of Great Britain’s fans were going to be left questioning just why Pearce did what he did.

"The whole country was probably thinking that it was 100 percent that he was going to be picked," Keane said. "Everyone is shocked."
LA coach Bruce Arena is also certain that the decision to leave Beckham out was not because of fitness reasons, but for some other reason altogether. This is because Arena claimed that Beckham was looking much better in recent weeks then he had in a while.

"David's physically fine and he's just getting better"

"Over the last two months he's really started to come into form. There's absolutely nothing wrong with him."
With Beckham now out of the team, he is set to be a member of the Great Britain team. He might not get to represent the team on the pitch, but he can always contribute from the sidelines and by helping promote the GB squad.
At the same time, we can also expect Beckham to never represent the national team again, considering his age and the fact that he might retire from football in the near future.
