LA Times won't stop calling me!!!?

I subscribed to their sunday paper a while ago and just cancelled it because I couldn't take it anymore. People from the LA Times keep calling me to make me subscribe to the daily editions. When I pick up the phone, I don't even have a chance to speak, he/she says: "From tomorrow we will start delivering the daily papers." I said: "I don't need them, are they even free?" They said no, and once this guy lied to me that it is free and I found out that it is not...

Why do they keep calling me almost everyday, even now that I have stopped the subscription? They still call me. Its is so frustrating! What should I do? I made so many phone calls already. They are so irresponsible and rude.

  1. Tell them firmly to put you on their do not call list.  It should take care of it.

  2. Try registering your phone number to national no call list. I did that and telemarketing calls seem to gone down. You do that and its illegal for someone to call you to sell craps.

  3. Newspaper circulation departments are under pressure these days, so the marketing folks can be over-enthusiastic.

Tell the caller, politely but firmly, that you need to speak to his/her supervisor about making sure that you don't hear from the company again. If the caller refuses, asks for his/her name, and then call the Times yourself.

This applies to any company, by the way.

  4. Make one last phone call. Tell them that you are going to charge them with harassment if they don't stop. Also, maybe call your phone company, and complain about the harassment.

  5. Tell them that you will sew them if they dont stop calling you... :)
