Okay I got my lip pierced friday and today is wednesday. I feel like the ball is loose because now my labret is sticking out alot more than it has been! Is that because the swelling has gone down??? I've tried and tried to feel if it's tight/lose but it feels ok to me and i've already touched it way too much it might get sore so i'm not touching it anymore.

do you think it's just because it's not as swollen anymore?

anyone else experience this??

  1. I had my labret pierced for almost 3 years and I had that EXACT thing happen to me. I think it is just becuase the swelling has gone down and your lip is not yet used to having something in it that was definitely not there before. I was worried that it was going to look ridiculous becuase it was sticking out straight, but after the first 2 or 3 weeks, my mouth grew accustomed to having it there, and it settled in and looked fine.  I hope this helped!  Good luck with your piercing!

  2. It is because it's not swollen anymore,

    don't over-react.

If it becomes more and mroe loose, see a piercer and they'll be able to tighten the jewellery,

but in general nothing seems wrong :)

  3. Don't mess with it!!  They always put in a longer labret after piercing due to swelling.  Your swelling is gone so the labret sticks out.  I wouldn't reccomend changing it yourself.  go to your piercer and have him/her change it after a week.

    good luck!

  4. Yes, its because the swelling has gone down, usually when someone gets pierced a longer barbel gets placed in so there can be room for the swelling, this is normal. When your piercing heals completely you can change the jewelry out to a standard size which is slightly shorter.

  5. Yes it's because the swelling has gone down.

Eventually you should go back to your piercer and get a shorter barbell.
