  1. I was the same. See, back then we didn't know how irritating it is to have one.

  2. Same reason we cross our fingers for a boyfriend when we're 12 and then think "WTF was I thinking" at 16.

    We're locas.

  3. I don't recall wanting to start my period, and I never wish I was a guy.

However, I do remember stuffing my shirt and praying for "boobies".

    Prayers do get answered! lol

  4. I did the same. Now my little sister is wanting all the "woman things" to happen too. I can guarantee that she isn't going to be enthusiastic about it when she starts right before vacation.

  5. Yeah, little girls are always in such a hurry to grow up and then we get there and....well...some days it's a little disappointing.

  6. try to see it the other way....if you did not have it, there could be something wrong with you. Also, we women are able to release a lot of stresses with our periods, and that might be a reason of why men live shorter lives than us.

    So, there!

  7. I think women's bodies should come with an "on/off" switch!! LOL When you're ready to have kids click on and start having periods, then turn it off when you're done! lol I hate having a period they are nasty and very inconvenient.

  8. Well, I didn't want it even as a kid.

I'm not sure I'd want to be a guy just for that, but I do wish it didn't have to be such a pain.

  9. I would say it is because as you grow up there is peer pressure and if others around you have started their periods, you dont want to be the only one who hasnt, just like growing boobies id guess. It also would make you feel more grown up.

  10. And that my Friend is why I love continues birth control. I control the flow.....

  11. Yeah, I was like that too.  I was a late bloomer, so, at the time, I thought there was something wrong with me.  Young girls just want to grow up way too fast.  If I knew then, what I know now, I would have done many things very differently.

  12. A lot of young women feel exactly the same way, but as the saying goes, the grass is always greener on the other side.  Plus with the advent of novel pharmaceuticals we can limit menses to about 4 times a year, unless there are contraindications.  Men have a lot of health issues too, but they just don't get the press that women's health issues do.  Biology didn't design men of confer "protection" to them from any number of diseases and congenital anomalies.

My late dad always said, "be careful what you wish for."  I think he was right.

  13. Despite the fact that I am a girly-girl in many ways, I NEVER wanted to start my period. Having a nurse for a mom, I knew all about it far before it started. I guess you could say I was informed enough to know better than to wish for it.

I hated it when I had to start wearing a bra too.

  14. We just wanted to get it over with to avoid being a late bloomer. I was right on schedule.

  15. Actually I didn't know what that was until I got it. I definitely don't want it.
