Question:

LADIES!!! - Vegetarian; missing something? or Pregnant?

For the past 3 months my period has been a little 'off'. I always assumed that it was because I am in 'transition' to becoming a vegetarian. The first month my period was 5 days long instead of 6 days, and same with the 2nd month. Now, it's the 3rd month and this period came on Saturday, went away on Sunday, came back Monday but is very light. Could this be because I'm lacking something in my diet, or is this a sign of pregnancy? Because my cousin said that with her first child she still got her periods, but they were all messed up, like mine.

Any suggestions welcome, no rude or inconsiderate comments.. Thank you.

  1. I would go ahead and take a pregnancy test if you have any doubts and think that you may have had s*x around the time that you ovulated on the 3rd month because your period appears to only have been 3 days long. A pregnancy test would be positive at this point if that was implantation bleeding. It is possible to have breakthrough bleeding during pregnancy.

Abnormal cycles are common unfortunately, so this may not be related to pregnancy or vegetarianism. Exercise, stress, and a change in environment can also have an effect on your cycle. Be sure that you are remembering to get all the nutrition that you need by taking vitamin supplements or soy protein powders and your vegetarianism should not be an issue.

  2. Take a pregnancy test to rule pregnancy out.  Changes in diets can throw off your monthly cycle so that could contribute to your personal changes.

  3. become a vegetarian may not effect your periods. this can be some thing else

  4. I am a vegetarian and don't miss my periods
