LAVA LAMP.The water in my lava lamp is cloudy,ive not used it for a year or so, ?

and its been shaken a lot today,before it was switched on,will it settle down ,or is it feckered.

To the best of my knowledge, the fluid you refer to as water, is NOT water but a special fluid which in time does go cloudy and I am afraid when that happens, all the shaking will not put the problem right.I am afraid a new purchase of the top portion of the lamp is the only cure.
