  1. First make sure that the school you're going to attend is ABA approved.  You may decide later that you want to live in another place, but you won't be able to take the bar if it's not ABA approved.

My suggestion is to do summer interns.  I hated law school and didn't do any interns and feel I missed out on experiences.  Try to get on the law review because that really helps.

Everything is competitive now, but if you know your stuff it shouldn't be too hard.

If you scored high on the LSAT and have a good gpa you should try for an Ivy League or ranked law school, like one in the Northeast, Berkley, UCLA, Georgetown, or  the University of Washington.

    Good luck.

  2. You've got contradictory information there. You say you want to work in criminal defense for the district attorney's office. They district attorney handles criminal prosecution, not defense.

To work for them, you should start by contacting the district attorney's office and ask how to apply.

  3. in many places the DA is elected, and they have a staff that serves at their pleasure and budget provided by the jurisdiction.

I am sure google will help you out with your career questions.

  4. LOLOL!!!  Do you really think lawyers go on YA!?
