LB James Harrison, safety Troy Polamalu, RB Rashard Mendenhall probable for next game –NFL News
The Pittsburgh Steelers are desperate to see the trio of star performers returning for this Sunday’s game as they find themselves in a must-win situation to consolidate their lead in the American Football Conference (AFC) North division beyond a single win.
It is rather too long a wait for struggling Steelers to see linebacker James Harrison, running back Rashard Mendenhall and safety Troy Polamalu return to action.
They particularly are keen to see daring challenger James back to the side as early as possible given the team has badly been affected at the defensive line, especially after safety Troy Polamalu went out of the side after playing some part of the season
opener.
As of the latest, the team has listed the trio as probable for this weekend’s game and there is a greater hope within the group that all three players will be up against the Philadelphia Eagles in the forthcoming game.
Coach Mike Tomlin is optimistic about these players but Steelers did not want to confirm their status without being hundred percent sure about their fitness level to avoid any complications.
James has not played a game since having a keen procedure in August this year, while the ousting period of Rashard is rather longer. He tore anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in the wild card game versus the Denver Broncos in January this year and has not
played a game since then.
If he is able to return to action this Sunday it will be his first game of the season, well within hopes of the team. Troy, on other hand, started for the team in the season opener but ended up injuring his calf to miss another couple in the recovery process.
The Steelers are coming on the field after a bye week and targeting the Eagles’ game for a victory, which is possible if their offensive line performs as impressive as it did in the last game.
Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is particularly going to be crucial to the team’s victory hopes, and if the abovementioned pair of defensive players is back on the field, the Steelers stand a chance of giving tough competition to the opponents.
