LB Keith Bulluck retires as Titan after decade stay in Tennessee – NFL News
Linebacker Keith Bulluck has officially ended his 11-year pro league career as a Titan on past Friday, mainly due to the fact that he spent almost the entire career with the Titans.
He played for the side for a full decade and wanted to finish his career in Tennessee – the town where he had begun the National Football League (NFL) career in 2000. His association with the side was well praised by the team’s officials and fans.
Keith said:
"You play this game and everybody wants to play to win a Super Bowl. I never got that opportunity, but there's no love lost for this game whatsoever.”
He added:
"There's great players that played this game and never played in or for a Super Bowl. I'm happy at this point in my life. I've had the opportunity to make a good amount of money and provide for my family. And now I get to walk away as a Titan. I've always
loved being a Titan."
The LB was selected by the Titans as a first-round pick off the 2000 NFL draft and since then continuously played for the side. His last stint was with the New York Giants in 2010.
Mike Munchak, Titans’ head coach who also coached Keith as an offensive lineman coach, spoke high of the player.
He said Keith has long arms, and took full advantage of the length to trouble his opponents. The coach also commended the versatility of the skills of the player, particularly his positive use as a rusher.
Keith made it to the Pro Bowl and All-Pro team once each during his entire career, the latter part of which was rather a period of lull and uncertainty for him.
Following his departure from the Giants, the reigning Super Bowl title winners, the player spent the past entire season on the sidelines for a lockout reason. It was the end of the story for him then, and the Titans finally gave him a token contract to facilitate
him finish his career in the town.
