LCD HD TV Companies?

Question

I am planning on getting a 26" Toshiba vs. 26" LG LCD HD TV. LG I heard has better colors but the Toshiba is more grainy. Which one is better? Do LG's break easily? Is LG on any of the top brands?

Well, to be honest, they're both Average companies...I'd still give the upperhand to Toshiba however, they make decent sets. Which is not to say that LG doesn't make nice TVs, but picture quality of Toshiba is generally a bit better. This is how I would rank the the best LCD makers...

1. Sony

2. Samsung

3. Sharp

4. Toshiba

5. LG

6. Phillips

7. Vizio

8. Akai

9. Sanyo

10. RCA

Any others are really more generic brands which I would never even touch as the possibility of some kind of hardware issue is very probably. Not to mention their picture quality isn't all that great.

LG's are MUCH better than a Toshiba.  Toshiba is a good brand....but LG hacks it.  Go look up "LG Scarlett" and you'll see what I'm talking about.  

As for rankings......here's what I think is the best (and I only know this because I've worked with LG, Samsung, Vizio, and Akai - I've dealt with the consumer electronics, tv's more specifically, first hand).

1.  Sony/Samsung (XBR Series/Touch of Color Series)

3. LG (Scarlett Series)

4. Sharp (Aquos Series)

5. Panasonic

6. Mitsubishi

7. Toshiba

Toshiba is better than LG by far. Although if you want the best, get a Samsung.
