LCD TV question?

I saw this Sceptre 32" TV for sale for 540. In some places it is listed as a 720p, but in others, it is listed as 1080i. What is the deal? It is a NAGA32dx I think. I've noticed that a lot of TV's are advertised as being 720p, but when you check the stats, it says it can take 1080i. What is going on with this?

  1. You said it yourself...they TAKE a 1080i signal. Meaning they will accept a 1080i signal, but will downscale it and display at 720p. This is a characteristic of MOST 720p tvs. They cannot however display the signal at 1080i.
