I am considering buying a HD TV after i bought my LCD 1080 P little more than an year ago. If you have not realized i am one of those cracked LCD TV victims. My kid through a toy at the TV and the rest most of you know, Coloured lines and cracked screen. Any way we are thinking again ( not very sure ) to buy again. I am wondering, if PLASMA would be better in handling impact. I am not expecting both of these to handle objects flying at them. But I have seen to may LCD TV cracked reports ( even during house moves ). My friend has a plasma ( like me he has small kids and who play near his plasma TV ). I guess what i want to know is, in terms glass strength which one is better.

Also I have heard people protecting the TV with plexi glass. Any feedback on this sort of protection ?

Thanks

Narayan

  1. LCD TV screens are fragile and easily subject to damage as your own personal experience bears. Plexiglas screen protectors do help a lot in preventing impact damage to an LCD screen, but they also add significant glare and reflectivity. Plasma screens are much more durable than an LCD screen, but they can be broken if hit with sufficient force.
