LCD repair?

Alright, to be honest i have no idea why i'm bothering to ask this, since i'm pretty sure it cant be done. But in any case, is there any way to temporarily repair a cracked LCD screen? I mean one that has a hairline crack down the middle and is totally useless. It's on a palm pda. I'm waiting for a new screen to come, but i figured that in the mean time...

Yes it would be removed and a new one will be kept on it but it costs a lot around £25 or $50
