LCD touchscreen in Mio c310x GPS is stuck.?

Question

LCD touchscreen has a spot as if liquid was slipped inside. The issue seems to have happened after either something was leaned of the screen or it was sitting over a heating vent.

The image is shown fine, but the map is jerking, suggesting it is getting funny input.

I tried warm and cold reboot - that didn't help. I opened the unit, but could not figure out a way of separating the front plastic piece from the screen.

A few days after this happened, I noticed the spot has gotten smaller.

Any suggestions what to try next, other then wait and hope?

if the unit got hot and then cooled quickly it may have drawn moisture in which has condensed on the screen, so that may actually be water.

Try get it warm again and dry it out a bit or leave it somewhere warm and dry like the hot water cupboard.
