Question:

LCD vs PLASMA?

I am interested in buying a new TV. I was just wondering what the two above meant. If a TV is LCD, does that mean it is flat in the back and doesn't jut out? If not, what is the word for this type of television? What does plasma mean? If you can, include other types of TV 'lingo' like such. Please, no long scientific explanations.

Thank you in advance.

  1. Well, I think that you're right about the size, but then again what do I know about technology?

  2. Plasma TV has shorter lifetime than Liquid crystal Display(LCD) also the LCD color contrast is much better and about the size the LCD is a little bit more thick than plasma personally i have a LCD and i am very happy with it.

  3. LCD is liquid crystal display, picture is usually very good, but not as good as plasma, but they are world's brighter.  Plasma, is plasma, very good sharpness, not very7 bight.  Both types are thin.  I recommend LCDs for their brightness, and their value.
