LCM to SCM?

okay, so my coach thinks that a sendoff as in a fifty free in a long course meter pool [LCM] in a :45 is equivalent to a :42.5 in short course meters[SCM] and that a 1:25 is equivalent to a 1:22 in SCM. i swear he is wrong because i cannot make these sendoffs. and i brought in a converter and he said it was wrong!

oh yeah, and i hate my coach.

  1. Sorry, but I think he's probably right. The first answerer was right as well about arguing with your coach. If you hate him so much, find a different coach.

  2. I think 2.5 seconds drop due to the one flip turn you get in 50 SCM is not realistic. Three seconds for the 2 extra flip turns you get in 100 SCM isn't much better, but it's maybe possible.

Arguing with your coach about equivalent sendoff times is a waste of time. He asks you to jump. Your response should be to ask "How high?" Either that, or find a different coach.
