A friend and I are travelling from London City Airport to Westminster and leaving London from Westminster to Luton Airport.

Can someone notify me of possible scenarios for means of transportation? We're looking for a cost efficient, yet hassle free route. Thanks in advance!

  1. Public transport is usually the most cost efficient method of travelling in London.  This is the link to their website which includes a journey planner:

The route suggested by TFL was to take the Docklands Light Rail to Canning Town & change to the Jubilee Line to go to Westminster Underground Station.

Information on tickets, fares & the Oyster card:

You can also use the journey planner to plan your route from Westminster to Luton Airport:

To get to Luton you will have to change from London Underground to National Rail services which will incur additional costs.  The journey planner suggest taking the tube from Westminster to London Bridge then changing to National Rail to get to Luton, it should cost from £14.

  2. LCY to Westminster take the DLR towards Bank, and change at Canning Town for the jubilee line underground (they should have a lift to make carrying bags easier).  The Jubilee Line goes direct to Westminster, overall the trip should take about an hour.

From Westminster to Luton, take the Jubilee Line north to West Hampstead, when you get there turn right and walk about 100m up the road towards the West Hampstead Thameslink Station.  From there you can get a train direct to Luton Airport Parkway (about 40 mins), and a free shuttle bus to the Airport (about 15 mins)
