Ok, I am 15 and i recently Stole a car, stole $200 and drove out of state. I was called in as a runaway. Alright, I got home and all charges got dropped but the $200 theft. and ive been busted for theft < $50 and i got a $200 ticket which i paid in the past, i have to go to court soon, but should i expect to happen to me? i dont have a lawyer either and i cant get one. The only thing im being charged with right now is the $200 theft, which will be my 2nd offence. Ive never been arrested and my first offence i cleared by paying the ticket.

  1. Can't get a lawyer? You may be entitled to a public defender. Call information for your local Public Defender's office ( or try on web - good luck narrowing it down to your local office, though.)

  2. NO one on here can tell you exactly what will happen when you walk into that courtroom, ok? All the factors will be different.. what the judge sees on your record, your attitude, if you have/do not have a lawyer, what the judge had for lunch that day and if he/she got into a fight with his wife last night. There is no magic chart that says for $200, it will be this or that.

You may wind up in juvie, you could wind up on probation (with someone to report to every week for a year). It also depends a lot on your home situation. Juvenile court has A LOT of leeway on what they can decide.

So, friendly advice. Being scared is a thing of value.. if where you are headed, is more trouble down the line. It serves a purpose. I won't pry and ask what is behind all this stuff going on. Your focus needs to be on how to keep from things getting worse than they already are.

But, no one can be sure exactly what is going to be done for this.

    I wish you luck.
