LET, Golf Fashion Week team up to promote golf
Ladies European Tour (LET) has reportedly teamed up with DenBosch Golf Fashion Week. Now Europe's female golfers, who are known for hitting balls, will be seen strutting across the course, showing off their trendy outfits.
LET decided to get in touch with DenBosch just weeks ahead of the first global Golf Fashion Week.
The Golf Fashion Week is going to be held at Brabanthallen, the Netherlands, from March 5-11.
The event will see Europe's leading golfers catwalk on the fairways in a bid to bring more excitement and thrill to the sport.
The star-studded event will see the participation of more than 500 VIP guests. Moreover, there will also be an invitational golf match coupled with cocktail party.
The best part of the event is that prominent European players will show up at the venue as fashion models adopting the Milan Fashion Week's style.
Moreover, in order to spice up the event, the organisers of the Fashion Week have invited a number of leading players to participate in the invitational match. The match will involve 9 holes.
The interesting aspect is that players will be gauged not only by their performance but also by how trendy they look on the course.
The final results will be based on a number of factors such as players' attire and stature, making performance of their game less important.
LET officials have expressed hope that the event will boost the image of golf across the globe because there is more to the sport than just performance on the course.
Executive Director of LET Alexandra Armas said that she is hopeful that the Fashion Week will help patrons of the sport reintroduce Tour's core values.
Shedding light on the LET's core values, Armas said that women's golf believes in "chic, diverse and engaging".
“Through this event, we will have the opportunity to show the world of fashion who we are," she added.
"We would like to show that the Ladies European Tour is not only a company dedicated to promoting and developing women’s golf tournaments but also that our members are chic, diverse and engaging individuals with the skills and talents to compete on and off
the course," she further stated.
Armas went on to say that the partnership with Golf Fashion Week will prove beneficial for the LET.
