LET players on the UniCredit Ladies Open take the glittering Audi R8 Spyder for a ride
Automaker Audi, the official sponsor of the UniCredit Ladies German Open, offered a glorious one-hour test drive of the latest Audi R8 Spyder 5.2 FSI Quattro R tronic to the field on the second day of the tournament.
Among the players who signed up for the ride included, Melissa Reid, Henrietta Zuel, Florentyna Parker, Jade Schaeffer, Sandra Gal, Frances Bondad, Vikki Laing, Stacy Lee Bregman, Claire Queen, Georgina Simpson, Liz Bennett, Kym Larratt, Elisabeth Esterl,
Diana D’Alessio and Rachel Jennings.
Henrietta Zuel was completely blown off by the power and performance of Audi’s newest brain child with a 525 BHP engine. She was out driving on the flat German Autobahns with LET’s osteopath, Adam Olarenshaw.
Zuel said after the ride, “I’m a complete petrol junkie and when I make enough money the R8 is definitely on my wish list, because it’s such a great car: so solid and it sounds insane. It’s like a deep growl; it’s awesome.”
Audi is offering LET’s most expensive hole-in-one prize at the Golfpark Gut Häusern, this week. On the 156-metre/171-yard par-three 15th, the world famous Audi will be giving out the sleek Audi R8 Spyder, worth 200,000 Euros which marks the highest prize
on LET’s circuit for the whole year. UniCredit Ladies Open is a €350,000 event with the winner’s share of €52,500. The winner will also get a dazzling Audi A5 Convertible with the winner’s cheque.
Laura Davies, the 2010 event champion, has been given a bright red Audi RS5, which she will be able to drive around for the whole week. She also owns the same model although the colour is shining silver with a purple tint.
Apart from driving on the limitless autobahns, the second day on the course was more of a disappointment for the field as the Frenchwoman Virginie Lagoutte-Clement went over to hit her career best round. She not only equalled the course record but also went
ahead to break the nine hole record on the LET. Clement carded a second round score of nine-under, 63, to gain a mammoth five shot lead over the contenders.
Overnight leader Becky Morgan is now tied for the second spot along with Finland’s Minea Blomqvist and Italian Diana Luna.
