LET rookie Esther Choe answers 18 questions
LET rookie Esther Choe appeared in the well known segment of LET, quick-fire 18.
Her comments revealed a great deal about the 23-year-old player, who has started a great pro career after an equally brilliant amateur career.
The session was a mix of personal and professional questions that sought to give readers an idea about the player. The first question was the customary, when asked about the best golf tip she ever received, she replied that the best shot is your next one.
In response to the question about her philosophy of life, she responded by citing John Wooden’s seven Point Creed. This creed is very impressive and is a fine choice to live one’s life by.
When asked a professional question about her dream foursome, she gave a rather startling reply. She said that her dream foursome would comprise of Bubba Watson, Tiger Woods, Ellen Degeneres.
Choe is pretty impressed by Bubba Watson. She named him as her favourite golfer. Given Watson’s standing as a golf icon, the choice is no surprise.
When asked about her favourite club, she named lob wedge as her club of choice. This is another surprise, as many players name either a driver or a putter as their favourite club.
Choe is on her way up the pro ladder of LET. She had an amazing amateur career. The highlight of this amateur career is her two-time selection for the US Junior Solheim Cup Team in 2005 and 2007.
This was not the end for Choe. She also competed in the U.S. Women’s Open for a record of five times.
Like many amateurs with great careers, she decided to turn pro. She began her professional career in 2007. Many experts commented that Choe will have difficulties in adjusting to the rigors of professional life.
She silenced the critics with her win in Arizona Women's Open, held in 2010. Before coming to LET, she was a rising star of LPGA. She played on the tour from 2007 to 2011.
Her best performance on the LPGA circuit was a second place tie in 2010’s City of Hammond Classic, held in Hammond, Indiana.
Choe is one of the upcoming stars of the LET. Already she has made her presence felt at the LET events through her good performance. She has taken part in a couple of tournaments, showing good form in many.
Her best game was at Allianz Ladies Slovak Open 2012. She was placed 12th with a score of 216. However, this was not the end. She again played brilliantly in the 2012 Turkish Airlines Ladies Open. She scored 296 and was secured the 13th position.
Choe is expected to play outstandingly in the upcoming LET events. She will give many amateurs and professionals a tough time on the golf course.
