LEUKEMIA!Is it true that SOME people with AB+ blood can only receive AB+ blood?

I have recieved a message asking people with AB+ bloodtype to donate blood to a person's father who has leukemia. However, I heard that AB+ is the universal receipant so that the guy could have taken blood from A,O,B and AB. Why is there a specific demand for AB+? Or is it just a prank message?

You are right.  AB+ can receive any kind of blood.  They messed up on the prank and should have asked for O neg.  I wish they wouldn't do pranks like this.
