LG DVD/HDD recorder RH2T80 hard disc problem

My LG DVD /HDD Recorder should insert Chapter Markers automatically as it records from TV Broadcasts on the hard drive. It does not, making it impossible to "Skip" thru the record when reviewing. Is this a fault in the machine or wrong info in the Manual? Please help!
