LG Shine CU720 PUK Blocked?

Question

I just a LG Shine CU 720 about 2 weeks ago with AT&T and then i tried to use my security settings and then accidentally locked my phone. It required an access code so i thought that it would probably be one of the generic numbers since i didnt set up new codes yet, but that didnt work so it told me to enter the PUK code. So i thought ok, it probably might be some generic code again so i tried that and a couple other numbers 10 times with no luck.

So, am i doomed? As it seems apparent that i fried my sim card (please tell me im wrong)?

And if it is fried, can i replace it for free? if i just got it?

Also, does it seem like that mostly the problems are occuring to LG shine users?

First of all, the PUK code stands for "Personal Unlocking Key".

If you can still enter a PUK code, contact your carrier immediately. You will be asked to verify your account and might have to get the serial number off your SIM so they retrieve a correct PUK code.

The rule of thumb with a PUK code is, after you enter the code incorrectly 3 times, if will prompt you differently. After 10 additional times, your SIM is COMPLETELY locked.

Even if your SIM is completely locked, it is advised that you contact your carrier to see their warranty policies to see if the SIM is covered and for how long. Most manufacturers have a 1 year hardware warranty but most likely will not cover the carrier's SIM.

that happened to my phone. you will have to go to your cellphone provider and get a new sim card. its about 25 dollars. but basically now your sim card has lost everything on it. it sucks.
