LG VU and text Messaging?

I'm looking into buying the LG VU and want something that will enable me to text as fast as I do with my regular phone. Does anyone out there have this phone and can let me know what the text feature is like?

i just got the LG VU. you can text three different ways. when you open up a new message you will see a keypad just like other phones. the only difference is it is a touch screen. you can text with this key pad two ways. you can either use ABC or you can use word. if you don't want to use either, you can open up a full key board by pressing a button. with this key board, its like typing on phones such as the voyager or any phone with a key board. the only difference is the phone doesn't open to reveal a key board and the key board on the VU is a touch one. at first you have to get used to the touch screen but after a while it gets easier. hope this helped!
