  1. deffenatly a! at least some people keep the rules of safe driving

  2. lgv in the uk means light goods vehicle but that apart most hgv[heavy goods vehicles]drivers sre proffesional enough to help traffic get past them ,you should always maintain a safe distance in the event of a accident the lorry driver willnot be hurt by a car so the answer must be A

  3. Have you thought about it from the other driver's point of view -- the guy (or gal) driving the LGV?  You have more rules and regs to keep your vehicle on the road than the average driver.  You have more training and licensing requirements to drive that vehicle than the average driver.  You are getting paid to do this job which is based on how quickly you can get from point A to point B, but you can only go so fast by law.  Little cars are zipping around you, cutting you off, stopping short in front of you, tail-gaiting, flipping you off, and such ... just because you're doing your job and doing it legally.

  4. (a)

You can't see through lorries, and as my dad once told me "What if you met someone driving just like you coming the other way?"

And if you risked your life over-taking you know full well you'll only make it to the next set of red lights. Then you've gained a whole 15 feet on the lorry. Whoopee.

  5. what's an LGV?

  6. The answer is A.

I'm the guy it that artic that you all moan about but I'm afraid to say that because my licence is my living i have to look after it, and the police always come down on us a lot harder when we mess up, so we haven't got much choice in the matter. However there are always a ***** in any trade or business so when you come across one of these always stay well clear.

  7. There is a campaign (which is endorsed by several police forces) to get the speed limit for L.G.V.'s raised from 40mph on single carriageways, to 50mph.

You have clearly outlined the reasons why in your question.

  8. There is only one correct answer, and that is A.

Speed and any other limits are for a reason, and whether we like it or not, have to be obeyed or we risk the consequences.

Answer B  whilst is probably tempting, especially if running late, is so stupid and dangerous its untrue, and if caught, the driver deserves all the punishment, including possible licence loss that comes his way.

Answer C  Even contemplating this, knowing the extra space and distance that a vehicle of this size  needs, both on the road, and to stop, is so crazy its untrue, and again, the driver would deserve everything the Law threw at him.

  9. I pass the truck when I find a safe opening.

  10. C, because a Van weighing only 8 Tons should be going quicker than 40mph, its got good brakes, an alert driver, good quality tyres.

When you get towards 40 Tons, then the handling is different, then slower speeds may be better.

If a van of 7.5T can go 60, why does 500kg suddenly turn it into a monster that needs to be slowed to 40?

  11. Hi

A.. we have a lot of tractors round this way

If I cant see to overtake

I am not going to risk mine and others lives

    by overtaking dangerously

I think the limit for HGVs

on single carriageway A roads should be increased to 50 mph though

What a lot of people do not realise is in a car the limit will be 60 &40 for a HGV

but there can be weight sensitive speed cameras

    on that stretch of road

    god luck

    drive safely
