  1. Dont turn the modem and router on together at the same time, turn on the modem and wait for it to load, then turn on the router and wait for it to connect.

Next right click on the network icon on the taskbar and configure a connection between your wireless card and router

  2. You aren't giving enough information to solve the problem. Are your computer or other devices not connecting wirelessly with the router? Is the router not talking with your cable or DSL modem? Is your modem not getting a solid connection to your ISP?

Please describe the steps you take to connect, and the results you get. After trying to connect with your PC (and getting either a success or failure message), what do you get when you open a command-line window and enter the 'ipconfig' command?

Alternatively, you could contact your ISP or Linksys for further setup help. Your ISP is responsible for internet to the modem (and helping you connect your computer directly so they can be sure it's not a problem on their end), while Linksys is responsible for the router's behavior. However, a competent technician from either company should be able to talk you through the networking details (IP addresses and the like). But at some point, they may refer you to the other company.

Be sure to keep records of who you talk with and what you've already tried if they do bounce you around.

  3. the same thing happened to me......just call the company and theyll tell u what to do....they actually ame to my house to fix it for me!

  4. I had the same problem with the same router.  For us, though, it was Best Buy that so-called installed the software and, according to them, it was ready for service.  Come to find out, it wasn't.

My suggestion is to call the number for customer service for Linksys.  The technicians are very friendly and extremely knowledgeable.  My brother was able to follow her step by step and had it working in no time.  They also have troubleshooting on the internet at the following link:

    http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite...

    Good luck!

  5. I would call your ISP as a lot of ISP's have specific settings for using wireless routers.
