Marsh batted at number three and had the opportunity to make a solid impression in his first outing, as the pitch was perfect for batting. He grabbed the chance with both hands, ending up with a spectacular ton.
The stylish left-handed player had all things going his way in the match. His bowlers had restricted the opposition to a cheap first innings total, which meant there was no pressure on the batsmen.
Apart from that, the Australian openers http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Phillip-Hughes-c2185 had given a terrific start to the side, collecting 60 runs at the top of the order. The former was the first wicket to fall in the innings after adding 36 runs to the total with the
help of six boundaries.
However, there was some pressure on the tourists, as they lost a couple of more wickets in quick time. Hughes also got out after scoring the same number of runs as his opening partner, striking five boundaries.
