LIVE – England v http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 - Cook and Trott depart, India looking comfortable – Match Update
English opener, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 batsmen in the
2nd Test of the four-match series, which is being played at Nottingham today.
England is leading in the series by 1-0. India, who has claimed to bounce back, is working well on the field to get some early wickets.
On Friday morning, India won the toss and put the Poms in to bat first. Bowling conditions were ideal in Trent Bridge and the Indian pacers obliged.
In the Indian side, left-handed all-rounder, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Z-Khan-c98379.
After losing the toss, the 34-year-old English skipper said, "We would've had a bowl as well, but I don't think it's a bad toss to lose, the wicket doesn't look too bad."
Indian right-arm pacers, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/P-Kumar-c2143 and Ishant Sharma started their first spells. England batsmen could not face the Sharma, as he was moving the ball away from the left-handers.
Sharma, in his 3rd over picked up Alastair Cook nicely. It was a nice straight one which caught Cook on the pads. There was a huge appeal by Sharma and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Marais-Erasmus-c74368 raised his finger.
However, TV reviews showed that the ball was a thread high and was missing the stumps, but there was not DRS for LBW decisions and England were at 7 runs with 1 wicket down.
Jonathan Trott joined his skipper at the crease as Dhoni, after one more over by Sharma, changed the bowler on the other end.
Sreesanth was given the new ball and he provided a major break-through by dismissing Trott on his 4th delivery. He delivered a nice out-swinger, which Trott tried to play towards mid-off, but the ball nicked his bat
and was caught by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/VVS-Laxman-c2772, at the 2nd slip.
Much to the satisfaction of the Indian skipper, England were at 24 runs after losing two vital wickets in 11 overs.
