India reached 271 runs against England in the final One Day International (ODI) of the five match series at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata in India on Tuesday, October 25, 2011.
The hosts have an unassailable lead of 4-0 in the series and will be eying a whitewash by winning today’s game. The team’s skipper MS Dhoni was the top scorer for his team with an unbeaten 75 runs. The opposition failed to dismiss him even once in the entire
series.

Gambhir was the first man to be dismissed in the day. He looked well set in the middle and was batting nicely on 38 runs. However, the star left-handed opener chopped one delivery onto his stumps, failing to convert his start.

This brought Dhoni at the crease and he batted sensibly until the end of the innings. The flamboyant batsman smashed the English bowlers to all parts of the park and ended up with an unbeaten 75 runs off 69 balls. He clobbered three fours and four massive
sixes, guiding his side to 271/8.
