LIVE – India v West Indies: 3rd Test – http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 all out for 134 in 2nd innings – Match Update
West Indies were all out for 134 runs in their second innings against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 in India on Saturday, November 26, 2011.
The hosts now need 243 runs for victory with a little more than two sessions remaining on the final day’s play. They have already won the first two matches of the series and a win today will give them a whitewash over the opposition.
The Caribbean Kings had gained a solid first innings lead of 108 runs, but failed to make an impression in their second outing.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DM-Bravo-c1386 was the only batsman who looked good in the middle, as he top scored the innings with 48 runs. He was the highest run scorer for his side in the first outing as well, contributing 166 runs to the total.
However, the talented batsman lacked support from the other end, as the Indian spinners dominated on a turning final day pitch in Mumbai.
Windies’ opener http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AB-Barath-c886 was the first man to be dismissed in the innings after scoring just three runs. He scored a half-century in the previous innings, but struggled to get going this time around.
First-drop http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kirk-Anton-Edwards-c71510 was the next man to be dismissed. He tried to bat aggressively and was sent back to the pavilion after adding 17 runs to the total with the help of three boundaries.
The innings was then stabilised by opener http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kraigg-Brathwaite-c71708 and Bravo, as the pair put on 61 runs for the third wicket partnership. They looked in control of the things until the Indian spinners started turning the ball viciously.
Brathwaite got out after scoring 35 runs and was followed by Bravo, who contributed 48 runs to the total with the help of five boundaries.
The lower-order struggled to cope up with the pressure, as wickets started to fall at regular intervals.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DJG-Sammy-c1382 were the only two batsmen to reach double figures in the lower-order whereas the rest were dismissed cheaply.
West Indies were all out for 134 runs from 57.2 overs. They were devastated by the opposition’s spinners http://www.senore.com/Cricket/R-Ashwin-c2228, who took six and four wickets respectively.
It will be a difficult task for India to chase down 243 for victory, but with openers like http://www.senore.com/Cricket/G-Gambhir-c1447, anything can be possible.
