LIVE - Kolkata Knight Riders post 121 runs on the board against Auckland - Match Update
In the ongoing Champions League Twenty20, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) posted a total of 121 runs on the board against rivals Auckland in the second match of the day after winning the toss at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hyderabad-c792.
The KKR started the innings in a staggering fashion as the openers took the opposition to task early on, in a bid to leave the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 seemed completely taken aback by the batting onslaught that was unleashed by
the KKR openers Manvinder Bisla and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/JH-Kallis-c1692.
The two batsmen exhibited superb form with the bat as they played sensational shots all around the park, leaving the Auckland side with little to look forward to in the game.
After posting 73 runs on the board, KKR suffered the loss of their first wicket when opener Bisla after playing a stupendous knock of 45 runs off 32 deliveries lost his wicket on the bowling of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Michael-Bates-c1947.
While the KKR middle-order lacked the killing instinct, it was another superb knock from the skipper Kallis as he posted 33 runs off 35 deliveries before losing his wicket on a delivery bowled by Auckland’s strike bowler http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KD-Mills-c1781 when he was caught in
the deep by Robert Quiney.
At the time of this wicket, KKR had managed to post 93 runs on the board for the loss of three wickets. It was then a tough time for the batting side as Auckland climbed back in the game by managing to halt the batting onslaught that had earlier wreaked
havoc on the fielding side.
However, the damage had been done and Kolkata managed to post a daunting target of 122 runs for Auckland to chase in twenty overs.
From Auckland, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Andre-Adams-c1033 took one wicket each.
With a tough total at hand, it will be interesting to watch how Auckland will manage to chase a target against a very formidable bowling side which includes the likes of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Brett-Lee-c48419 and Kallis.
