LIVE- Namibia v/s http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Scotland-c756 – First Innings Update
Team http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Namibia-c2964 has posted a commendable total of 257 runs all-out against the Scottish tourists, with Christi Viljoen top-scoring the line-up with a solid aggregate of 78 off 92 balls. The fixture comes as the 5th Intercontinental Cup match, being
played at the Wanderers Cricket Ground, Windhoek, on Wednesday, September 28, 2011.
The bout kicked off after Namibian Skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sharif-c89762.
Brining in a stable start for the team, the pair took on a rather composed batting performance and managed to sail steady through the opening overs, pouring in runs for Namibia.
Unfortunately for the duo, the players failed to retain their partnership after the team suffered its first loss during the innings’ 10th over, after http://www.senore.com/Cricket/France-c2899 exited the pitch following a successful Leg before Wicket (LBW) appeal off Richie Berrington’s
delivery, leaving http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sarel-Francois-Burger-c88808 to accompany Viljoen.
The newly formed pair engaged into the team’s most effective partnership, after taking on an impressive task to stall Namibia’s innings for 23 overs following which Viljoen’s productive run at the crease was finally brought to an end by Berrington’s another
blow.
The batsman departed after scoring 78 off 92 balls, including 10 boundaries and a single out of the park. By the time Namibia lost its second wicket, the team stood at an adequate total of 151 runs in 32.4 overs.
However, a few more overs into the innings, Namibia trailed into suffering another swift streak of wickets, losing three players in quick succession. The trio also included Burger, who marked his dismissal after scoring a deserving half century.
Having lost the team’s top line-up the eventual lower order also failed to make much difference for their side as Namibia lost more players towards the close of the innings.
Losing all their wickets, the Namibian batters finally managed to wrap-up their innings, scoring a total of 257 runs.
